MISSION/PHILOSOPHY
CURRICULUM
Our teacher designed curriculum is unit-oriented and based on NAEYC standards for Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP.) The curriculum provides for the child’s development in the following areas: Cognitive (Math, Literacy, Social Studies, and Science) Language, Gross and Fine motor skills, and Creative (Arts and Music.) Our learning strategies include: circle time stories, games, and songs, manipulative play centers, art activities, music class, technology, and outdoor play. Children learn best through experience and play. Our programs provide well-trained caring teachers, fun and educational stimulation, and a loving environment within the framework of Christian values to allow for each child’s individual growth and development.
FAITH TEACHING
Our curriculum is enhanced with faith teachings which include: Bible stories, Christian values, songs, and activities. Chapel is held weekly at 9:30 AM every Wednesday and Thursday.
STAFF
Our experienced staff is composed of highly dedicated and qualified people. More than half of our staff have been working at Grace Christian Day School for more than ten years. All of our staff have years of early childhood experience. Each staff member must complete 24 hours of continuing education in early childhood related fields each year. Our teachers provide an atmosphere of professionalism, as well as love and support for students and their families.
HISTORY
Grace Presbyterian Church Day School started operations in 1982, and continues on strong today with word-of-mouth recommendations from current and past parents as a big part of our success.
